doctrinal statement
what we believe
The Bible
I believe that God revealed Himself to mankind authoritatively in the Bible. I believe that all 66 books in the Bible are the inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16). I also believe that God has preserved His Word in the form of the King James Bible (Psalm 12:6-7). The King James Bible is my sole authority of faith and practice (Hebrews 4:12).
God
I believe the evidence of True God is in the wondrous creation (Romans 1:20). The Bible is God’s authoritative revelation of Himself (II Timothy 3:16). God is eternal (Isaiah 57:15), self-existent (Exodus 3:14), immutable (Malachi 3:6), triune (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit are equal in nature, distinct in person. Genesis 1:26, 11:7, Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19), omniscient (Isaiah 40:28), omnipotent (Isaiah 44:24), omnipresent (Psalm 139:7-12), perfect in righteousness (Isaiah 6:3), perfect in love and mercy (II Peter 3:9). God is sovereign (John 3:15-16) and He created everything.
Jesus Christ
I believe that Jesus Christ is God. He is coexistent and coequal with God the father and God the Holy Spirit (I Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 1:8), the creator of everything (John 1:1-3). Jesus Christ came to the earth and was born of a virgin (Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:23). Jesus Christ was truly God and truly man (Philippians 2:5-11). Jesus Christ without sin but voluntarily laid down His life as the sacrifice for the sin of mankind (II Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 9:28). He physically died on the cross and paid the sin debt for everyone (Romans 5:8-9). After His physical death, Jesus Christ resurrected bodily from the dead and ascended into Heaven (I Corinthians 15:3-4, Mark 16:19).
The Holy Spirit
I believe that the Holy Spirit is God. The Holy spirit is referred to as a person (John 14:16-17). The Holy Spirit is coexistent and coeternal with God the Father and God the Son (I John 5:7). The Holy Spirit indwells the believer at the moment of salvation (I Corinthians 6:19). He engages in the progressive work of sanctification, conforming the believers to the image of Christ (Philippians 1:6). He guides the believers who are fully submitted to the Lord (James 4:8).
Sin and Salvation
I believe man is incapable of obtaining eternal life through any effort of his own (Romans 3:23). Jesus Christ came to the earth to redeem man from sin and its penalty (Luke 19:10). The death of Jesus Christ and the shedding of His blood was essential for the payment of sin debt and the satisfaction of God’s justice (Hebrews 9:28). Jesus Christ was resurrected for our justification (Romans 4:25). A person is saved by grace alone through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work of salvation. (Romans 4:5) Once a person is saved, he cannot lose his salvation (I John 5:10-13).
The Church
I believe the term “church” refers to a local, independent, and called-out assembly of believers with Lord Jesus Christ as its head. Local, autonomous churches are for the propagation of the Gospel and equipping the saints for God’s glory (Acts 2:46-47, Colossians 1:18). The Bible is the sole authority of faith and practice for all churches (II Timothy 3:16). The two ordinances of a local church are baptism and the Lord’s supper, and two offices of a local church are pastor and deacon (Luke 22:19, I Peter 5:1-4).
The Last Days
I believe the Rapture of the believers is imminent (I Corinthians 15:51-53). I believe the judgement seat of Christ takes place after the rapture (Romans 14:10). I believe the Tribulation will take place right after the rapture (Revelation 6-18). I believe Jesus Christ will return to the earth and establish a kingdom on earth for 1,000 years. Satan will be bound during this time (Revelation 20:1-6). At the end of the Millennial Reign of Jesus Christ, Satan will be loosed for a season to fight against the Lord. The Satan will be cast in the Lake of Fire for eternity (Revelation 20:7-10). Every person who is not saved will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgement and will be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity (Revelation 20:11-15). After the Great White Throne Judgement, all the Saved will enter into eternity with the Lord (Revelation 21,22).
